About Me

I love my work as a celebrant and consider it a privilege to share in the most important event in people's lives. I have been registered as a celebrant since 1995 and in that time have conducted over 1000 wedding ceremonies.

Prior to becoming a celebrant I enjoyed a successful and rewarding career as an Educator – first as a Primary Teacher and later teaching Literature, English and History in Secondary Schools. I have been an Assistant Principal and a Principal and have also worked in Human Services and at a University. I have also delivered Professional Development and Training to other Education Practitioners and to Marriage Celebrants Currently, in addition to my work as a celebrant, I work, on a casual basis, as an Education Officer at the State Library of Victoria.

My very diverse background experiences have informed my practice as a celebrant enabling me to bring a range of knowledge, ideas, and skills to the role.

In my personal life I am a mother, mother-in-law and a devoted grandmother. I enjoy a wide circle of friends and a range of interest which include music, reading, writing, theatre, film, golf and spending time with my beloved animal companions - one old Red Australian Cattle Dog and 2 black and white short hair domestic cats.

I have an enduring and deep commitment to a shared humanity, social justice, inclusiveness,+ the environment and peace.

My qualifications include a Trained Primary Teachers' Certificate, a Bachelor of Arts, a post graduate Bachelor of Education, Certificate IV Marriage in Celebrancy and Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and Training. I am a member of the Australian Education Union, the College of Education, the Association of Marriage Celebrants Victoria and Writers' Victoria.
